Convocation-2013
    The Convocation ceremony was held on 16th February 2013 at Jinnah Medical College Hospital - Korangi Industrial area. Medical Education at JMDC aims at producing high quality graduates as Doctors, Dentists, and Pharmacists equipped with academic leadership qualities under the supervision of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members.
    Dr Syed Tariq Sohail, Chairman S. M.Sohail Trust, in his welcome address highlighted the importance of ethical practice. Professor Dr. S.M.Rab, as Chief Guest in his keynote speech addressed to the graduates emphasized the importance of acquiring a high degree of skills & knowledge. Professor Dr Mumtazuddin Haider, JMDC Principal spoke about College development. He said that the College is listed in the WHO Directory and many of our graduates are working all over the world including UK and US bringing credit and honor to the Country and JMDC. We are proud of them. Professor Dr. M. Qaiser, Vice Chancellor, University of Karachi spoke about the expectation of the Community from the Doctors and the role of JMDC in producing a good doctors.

     The following graduates received the Dr. Syed Tariq Sohail Academic Achievement Award for having the best overall academic record in their graduating class:

Graduates Earning Distinction
   MBBS and BDS graduates who have scored 75% marks or higher on the aggregate of a subject earn a "Distinction" in that subject. 
   The following numbers of graduates earned distinctions in one or more subjects in their Professional Examinations.
 
12 (17%) MBBS graduates of 2011 earned a total of 26 distinctions in different subjects.
38 (46%) MBBS graduates of 2012 earned a total of 99 distinctions in different subjects.  
 
 
20 (41%) BDS graduates of 2011 earned a total of 62 distinctions in different subjects.
 
21 (45%) BDS graduates of 2012 earned a total of 45 distinctions in different subjects.
 
PharmD students are awarded a distinction when they earn 90% or higher marks in a subject.
17(52%) PharmD graduates of 2010 earned a total of 38 distinctions in different subjects.
   
16 (34%) PharmD graduates of 2011 earned a total of 27 distinctions in different subjects.
