Orientation program was scheduled for the new students of MBBS & BDS from December 18-20, 2013. The Orientation program is a great source to help each student to understand the overall educational system policies and procedures of JMDC. This important session develops sound understanding of educational methodology, maintaining discipline and the role of a student throughout the educational programs & in extracurricular activities.

TO WELCOME NEW STUDENTS
"Commencement Day" for the 17th batch of MBBS and 16th batch of BDS first year students with parents was organized on December 17, 2013 . Senior students of MBBS & BDS enthusiastically greeted the new candidates. Addressing the new entry and their parents the Principal Prof. Mumtaz uddin Haider, highlighted the College history and the role of a student at JMDC. The Chairman, Dr Syed Tariq Sohail, welcomed the listeners and encouraged the importance of education and skills necessary for the medical profession. The gathering were given briefing by Head of Dental Section In charge, Dr Mohsin Girach and Vice Principal, Student Affairs, Mrs. Debra Lobo, about College educational policies and procedures.

PROTECT OUR FUTURE: WORLD DIABETES DAY
|

Jinnah Medical & Dental College, Students Health Club celebrated World Diabetes Day on November 26, 2013. All the students were dressed up in blue color. BDS House Officers showed their support by presenting skit on Diabetes “The Silent Killer.” MBBS IV YEAR students made a presentation with informative posters. DR Ashok Kumar, Assistant Professor Medicine – Jinnah Medical College Hospital delivered the lecture. During the session, he informed that WHO ranks Pakistan 7th on diabetes prevalence list and it will become 4th largest by the year 2030. In Pakistan, 6.9 million people are affected by diabetes with the International Diabetes Federation estimating that this number will grow to 11.5million by 2025.

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DAY

JMDC organized World Mental Health Day on October 09, 2013. Guest speakers renowned psychiatrist and president of Pakistan Association addressed MBBS final year class displayed Role Play egarding, old age medical, psychological & social issues with its impact on this age group & the ways to improve it.The program, for Mental Health (PAMH), Prof Haroon Ahmed, Dr Badar Sabir Ali, Associate Professor Family Medicine Retd. from Aga Khan University & Chairman, S.M.Sohail Trust, Dr Syed Tariq Sohail.
